This October, Holly Hansen Public Relations celebrates 10 years of successfully promoting businesses in the wine, food, hospitality, and lifestyle industries. Holly Hansen founded the business in 2008 in a small office in Sebastopol and has grown to occupy a spacious office in downtown Santa Rosa, with three full-time employees and a network of professional colleagues.
“I am incredibly grateful to my clients, employees, and colleagues who have helped me reach this milestone,” says Hansen. “It has been a privilege to share the stories of my clients who are passionate, creative, and dedicated.”
Before starting Holly Hansen Public Relations, Hansen was a professional chef, served on the editorial staff of Wine X magazine, and performed as Vice President of Media Relations for a New York- and Sonoma County-based PR agency for ten years.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, only about 30% of small businesses make it to their 10th year. While this is an accomplishment for any company, it is especially significant for Holly Hansen Public Relations. The company was launched in 2008 during a world-wide financial crisis when many companies were slashing budgets for PR & marketing.
“It was a rough start, but I was able to quickly find clients who needed PR and marketing help and trusted me to help get them through those rough times,” says Hansen. “As a company we have grown and learned a lot in the past 10 years. We are now a small but mighty team with a strong core and the ability to communicate compelling messages for our clients through traditional media, social media, websites and newsletters.”
