Top 3 Independence Day Events in Sonoma County!
This year, the Fourth of July falls on a Wednesday, which means one long work week is separated into two! Why not take advantage of the holiday by celebrating with food, festivals, fireworks, family, and friends? There’s no better way to celebrate our country than right here in Sonoma County, so here are our top 3 picks for events to attend this week:
Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza and Music Festival in Sebastopol (July 3, 2018) This is the 45th annual Fireworks Extravaganza at Analy High School football fields in Sebastopol! With games, food, live music, a flag ceremony, the Star-Spangled Banner, and of course, an amazing firework show, it’s no wonder this is such a popular event. The Kiwanis Club of Sebastopol runs the event, and all proceeds go right back into the community. Festivities begin at 6:00pm when the band starts, so be sure to bring your blankets and loved ones for a wonderful evening!
Red White and BOOM Santa Rosa (July 4, 2018) This is the 10th annual Red White and Boom, which was designed to be incredibly family-friendly. There will be bouncy houses, face painting, local bands, food, and more at the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds. While the fireworks won’t start until 9:30pm, the Fairgrounds will be open for families to enjoy all the festivities beginning at 3:00pm.
4th of July Fireworks Spectacular with Transcendence Company and the Santa Rosa Symphony (July 4, 2018) This is a unique opportunity to see the Transcendence Theatre Company collaborate with the Santa Rosa Symphony, followed by a grand fireworks show on Weill Hall Lawn at the Green Music Center in Rohnert Park. The show starts at 7:30pm, but you can come early and bring your kids to the Kid Zone opening at 4:30pm where they can face paint, play games, jump in the bouncy house, and celebrate our country’s independence!
