Our Busiest Day of the Year?

November 7, 2018

November 4th was quite a busy day for HHPR! We had two exciting client events, which were both very successful. The City of Sebastopol, in partnership with the County of Sonoma, sponsored "Raise the Roof! West County," an informational Housing Fair for those interested in creating Additional Dwelling Units (aka "granny units") in Sebastopol, and Julie Atwood Events hosted the annual "Heritage Turkey Sunday Supper" to benefit the Sonoma County agriculture community.

Check out our pictures below to find out more about what we were up to!

Raise the Roof! West County Housing Fair & Expo

Housing Fair Attendees (more than 150 altogether!) had the chance to speak one-on-one with housing creation and permitting experts. Sonoma County Supervisor Lynda Hopkins, Sebastopol Mayor Patrick Slayter and Sebastopol Councilmember Una Glass also moderated two panels throughout the day to discuss the need for housing in West County.

Heritage Turkey Sunday Supper

This year’s Heritage Turkey Sunday Supper was hosted by Julie Atwood Events and Slow  Food  Russian  River at  the  Atwood  Ranch  in  Glen  Ellen. Guests enjoyed live music,  live  and  silent  auctions  of  one-of-a-kind  culinary  experiences, a  4-H  Heritage  Turkey  Auction, and  a  family-style  farm-to-table  meal  with  the  best  autumn  ingredients  prepared  by  a  team  of  all-star  local  chefs.

HHPR's good friend Liam Mayclem, of Foodie Chap, even auctioned off a "foodie" experience in San Francisco, complete with a stay at the International Mark Hopkins Hotel. His experience was one of the highest bids of the night!

The event was a huge accomplishment for all involved. Event proceeds go towards youth agriculture programs such as 4-H, Slow Food Russian River, and Sonoma County Farm Trails; in addition, winning bids from the turkey auction go directly to the young farmers who raised the birds.
